RE-ELECT CHARLES GILES FOR NABET
REGIONAL VICE PRESIDENT
I WILL BE RESPONDING SHORTLY TO MY OPPONENTS BIOS!

It is a simple choice folks! Do you feel as the current Union leadership that the office of Regional Vice President is one of Merely an administrative position or as I feel each and every Union position must advocate for the benefit of each and every member in these though economic times?
You will see
The fight in me to right the gross wrongs of the politics within.
I won the position as local 11 Vice President. You elected me to represent you, only to have that position taken away when the by- laws were changed after the fact. I ask you, did this happen because the union conveniently had nothing else to do and thought "Hm, just after Charles's election is a GREAT time to do an overhaul of the by-law concerning election terms" or was it because there is a fear of change that is needed within the union or change not wanted by others??? This action by local 11 was challenged all the way to Larry Cohen, the President of the CWA and it was ordered back to Nabet for re-review. (Click here for details)
Finally You will see
A person that will stand up for the rights of my brothers and sisters even, when my back is against the wall. As of this writing, I feel bad that I can't come into this building to talk to my union sisters and brothers in person to campaign for my position as Regional Vice President while all of the other candidates have access to the members in the building .
I ask all my union sisters and brothers is this a coincidence??? Since I first ran for Regional Vice President and won NBC has locked me out of the building during my union activities on three seprate occasions (three elections, and getting signatures for the daily hire law suit petitions) for a total of 1 year at full pay at a group seven pay rate. I just want to clarify I have never been disciplined by NBC for any reason in my 25 years of working for them!
I truly believe what NBC is doing to me now is a result of me fighting for the members, regardless of any fear of retaliation against myself from the company.
It is easy to be in retirement, like some, and sit in the union office, making decisions that would not effect thier livelihoods as well as to be immune from company retaliation, while still be allowed to reap the benefits from the posistion they hold with no harm to them; then, get considered for a cushy job as an organizer, traveling around the country, all expenses paid. I would rather see that job go to a working member whether daily hire or staff.
For example, The Content Producer Agreement: that deal was made by Local 11 leadership and, sadly, it effected the whole country; lot of good folks lost thier jobs. We had a great NLRB victory concerning the content producers but as of yet, none have been made NABET, and none of the ones laid off have been hired back even though we were promised hundreds of jobs! So much for the many, many job positions that the company and our leadership advised us of in the new contract. Again, decisions made by people who these promises would never have an effect on. I believe that you should make decisions for your future, based on fact and personal experience, not from what you hear as promised by others, but what your eyes see. It is my hope that you see what I have done for you in the past, and what I will try to do in the future. Please allow me to be your voice.
Thanking you for all of your support
